Toshiba has killed off HD DVD- Is it the End of the DVD?

February 29th, 2008 · No Comments

The decision by Toshiba to kill off HD DVD has been greeted as a victory for the Blu-ray format but have Toshiba simply decided to exit a dying market anyway?

I remember several years ago reading that the DVD was going to go the way of vinyl and simply get replaced.

DVDs are used for movies and with many people moving to downloading movies from the internet the need for DVDs cluttering up the Lounge is probably coming to an end.

Blu-rays victory could turn out to be very short-lived.
